Network security requires constant vigilance.  Operating system software needs to be regularly patched and upgraded to deny access to Internet hackers who want to commandeer your network to send spam, and/or gain access to sensitive company data and personal information.  In addition, your Internet router may require new firmware or a reconfiguration along with an upgraded firewall to fend off these hacker attacks.

Your antivirus software needs to be updated daily with the very latest virus-definitions in order to identify and eliminate email viruses and worms that have been designed to wreak havoc on your computer network.  Likewise, anti-spyware software must be continually updated to find and destroy software that enters your system from web sites and is designed to collect personal information, steal passwords and credit card numbers or hijack your hardware.
